Product Detail

The DPA 4660-OC-H-F00 4660 CORE Heavy Duty Omnidirectional Microphone in beige color with a MicroDot connector is perfect for situations where security is key and mic size isn't a major concern. This heavy-duty mic series features a stainless-steel housing, a tough cable relief, and a thick 2.2 mm cable. It's a more robust version of the original mics. These microphones can handle the harshest conditions. They come with an extra-strong, Kevlar-reinforced cable and a strain relief that can withstand daily twists, bends, and pulls in tough environments. The 5.4 mm diameter pre-polarized condenser element with a Double Vent Protection System makes the mics highly resistant to humidity and sweat. You can modify the acoustic response of these mics (both normal and heavy-duty versions) by choosing the right grid. Each microphone (except the 4671) comes with two anodized stainless-steel grids. The Soft Boost Grid gives a 3 dB boost at 8 - 20 kHz, and the High Boost Grid provides a 10 dB boost around 12 kHz. These grids can be detached and cleaned easily. The 4660 Heavy Duty is a flexible and durable miniature microphone with an accurate omnidirectional pattern. It doesn't need to be aimed directly at the sound source for quality pickup. It's great for capturing all nuances of speech and can be used for high-end ambient recordings in limited spaces or when you need to hide the mic. It can handle sound pressure levels up to 134 dB before clipping. Technical specifications include an omnidirectional pattern, pressure operation principle, pre-polarized condenser cartridge, 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response, and more.

Using the DPA 4660 CORE Heavy Duty Omnidirectional Microphone is easy. First, connect it to your audio device using the MicroDot connector. You can choose between the Soft Boost Grid and the High Boost Grid according to your needs for better sound quality. When using it, you don't have to worry about aiming it precisely at the sound source as it has an omnidirectional pattern. For maintenance, you can detach the grids and wipe them clean of sweat, makeup, or dust regularly. Keep the microphone in a dry place, as it can work in humidity up to 90% but long - term exposure to excessive moisture may damage it. Also, make sure the power supply meets the requirements, either 5 - 10 V for wireless systems through the DPA adapter or P48 Phantom Power with the DAD6001 - BC. Avoid subjecting the cable to excessive twists and pulls to prevent damage to the Kevlar - reinforced cable. The microphone can operate in a temperature range from - 40°C to 45°C, so don't leave it in extremely hot or cold environments.
