The Earthworks FlexMic™ FMR720/HC 27 Hypercardioid Condenser Podium Microphone is a top - notch choice for public speaking. Incorporating Earthworks’ patented technologies, it offers high speech intelligibility and a uniform off - axis response. This means you can clearly hear the speaker whether they're speaking in front or at the sides of the mic, with no loss in sound quality. The smooth off - axis response also gives more gain before feedback. With a 145dB SPL max acoustic input, it's almost impossible to overload. It has high rejection of rear sounds, no handling noise, and incredible RFI rejection. Ideal for lecture halls, presentation spaces, churches, civic centers, theaters, and government facilities. Key features include uniform frequency response at 0°, 45°, and 90°, high intelligibility, more gain before feedback, and no handling noise. It's available in hypercardioid and comes with various gooseneck options like fully flexible in 360, 500, and 720mm lengths, rigid center with flex at both ends in 500mm and 720mm lengths, and with an LED light ring. There's also an optional PMM1 podium mount accessory. Technical specs: Frequency response is 50Hz to 20kHz ±2dB at 6 inches (15cm), polar pattern is hypercardioid, sensitivity is 10mV/Pa (-40dBV/Pa), power requirements are 48V Phantom, 10mA, and more.
Using this Earthworks microphone is a breeze. First, make sure to connect it to a power source that provides 48V Phantom power with a 10mA current. Then, plug the XLR output into your audio system. Position the microphone according to your preference - you can use the flexible or rigid gooseneck to adjust it. When speaking, you can stand in front or at the sides of the mic, and it will pick up your voice clearly. For best results, keep your distance from the mic around 6 inches (15cm). As for maintenance, avoid getting the microphone wet. Clean it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Don't subject it to rough handling as it can affect the performance. If you're not using the optional PMM1 podium mount accessory, store it in a safe place. And remember, with a max acoustic input of 145dB SPL, you don't have to worry about overloading it easily, but still, don't expose it to extremely loud and sudden noises.
