Product Detail

The DPA 4660 - OC - H - B03 4660 CORE Heavy Duty Omnidirectional Microphone is a great choice for situations where high security is needed and mic size isn't a major concern. It has a stainless - steel housing, a heavy - duty cable relief, and a thick 2.2 mm cable. This microphone is a sturdier version of the original model. It can handle the toughest conditions. It comes with an extra - robust, Kevlar - reinforced cable and a strain relief, built to endure daily twists, bends, and pulls in harsh environments. The 5.4 mm diameter pre - polarized condenser element with a Double Vent Protection System makes it highly resistant to humidity and sweat. You can modify the acoustic response by choosing the right grid. Each mic (except the 4671) comes with two anodized stainless - steel grids. The Soft Boost Grid gives a 3 dB boost at 8 - 20 kHz, while the High Boost Grid offers a 10 dB boost around 12 kHz. These grids can be easily detached for cleaning. The 4660 Heavy Duty is a flexible and durable miniature microphone. It has an accurate omnidirectional pattern, so you don't need to aim it directly at the sound source for quality pickup. It's perfect for capturing speech nuances and high - end ambient recordings in limited spaces or when you need to hide the mic. It can handle sound pressure levels up to 134 dB before clipping. Technical Specifications: Directional pattern: Omnidirectional Principle of operation: Pressure Cartridge type: Pre - polarized condenser Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20 kHz Effective frequency range +/-2 dB: Soft boost grid: 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 3 dB soft boost at 8 - 20 kHz. Cable and MicroDot connector Microphone diameter: 5.4 mm (0.21 in) Microphone length: 17.6 mm (0.7 in) Cable length: 1.8 m (5.9 ft) Cable diameter: 2.2 mm (0.09 in) Polarity: Positively increasing sound pressure produces positive going voltage on MicroDot pin Temperature range: - 40C to 45C (- 40F to 113F) Relative humidity (RH): Up to 90%

Using the DPA 4660 CORE Heavy Duty Omnidirectional Microphone is easy. First, connect it to your device. If you're using a wireless system, make sure the power supply is between 5V and 10V through the DPA adapter. If you're using the DAD6001 - BC XLR Adapter, you can use P48 Phantom Power starting from 12V. Since it has an omnidirectional pattern, you don't have to aim it directly at the sound source. Just place it in a suitable location, and it'll pick up sound well. It's great for recording speech, so you can use it in meetings, interviews, or when you're capturing ambient sounds in tight spaces. When it comes to the grids, you can choose the Soft Boost Grid for a gentle boost at higher frequencies (8 - 20 kHz) or the High Boost Grid for a stronger boost around 12 kHz. Detach them when they get dirty and wipe them clean. As for maintenance, keep it away from extreme temperatures (it works best between - 40C and 45C) and high humidity (up to 90% is okay). Also, be careful with the cable. Although it's Kevlar - reinforced, try to avoid excessive twisting and pulling. If you're using the DAD6001 - BC XLR Adapter, make sure it's properly connected to ensure good signal balance.
