Product Detail
The Black Countryman M2OP4FF50B Isomax 2 is an outstanding all - purpose microphone. It comes in omni, cardioid, and hypercardioid patterns. Unlike other mics that turn omnidirectional at low frequencies, the Isomax 2 offers true frequency - independent patterns. With high SPL capability, it's perfect for instruments, placements, and any task. It delivers pure performance with a full, open frequency response and extremely low distortion, even at high sound levels inside instruments. Capture natural sound anywhere - inside or outside musical instruments, on stages, or hidden in theater, movie, and TV sets. It also fights feedback effectively, providing excellent gain before feedback in tough live environments. What's included? The Isomax 2 all - purpose microphone, a basic clip, a windscreen, and a carrying case. Technical specs: Omnidirectional frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz, directional is 50 Hz to 20 kHz. Sensitivity is - 57 dB re 1V/Pa (1.4 mV/Pascal). Equivalent acoustic noise is 25 dBA (omnidirectional) and 29 dBA (directional). Overload sound level at 1kHz is 150 dB SPL at 1% THD. It requires 6V to 50V Phantom at 4mA, and voltage below 24V reduces overload SPL. Output impedance is 600 Ohms +/- 2% balanced, transformerless. Dimensions are 5/16” x 5/8” x 5/32” (8mm x 16mm x 4mm) excluding cable strain relief. Cable length is 5 feet for wireless and 10 feet for hardwired configurations.
Using the Countryman M2OP4FF50B Isomax 2 microphone is a breeze. First, decide on the pattern (omni, cardioid, or hypercardioid) based on your recording needs. If you're recording a large choir or audience, the omnidirectional pattern might be best. For single instruments or solo performers, the directional patterns are a great choice. When setting it up, make sure to connect it to a power source that meets the 6V to 50V Phantom at 4mA requirement. If you use a voltage below 24V, keep in mind that the overload SPL will be reduced. You can use the basic clip to attach it to your desired location, or use the windscreen when recording outdoors to reduce wind noise. Store it in the carrying case when not in use to protect it. As for maintenance, keep it clean by gently wiping it with a soft cloth. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. And remember, it can drive load impedance without distortion at full rated SPL, so you don't have to worry too much about the output end as long as you follow the basic rules.
