Product Detail
The Cloud Electronics PM - 4 Digital Paging Microphones are a great choice for general multizone applications and can work with non - Cloud products. There are four models in the PM series: PM4, PM8, PM12, and PM16. The main difference among them is the number of zone select buttons on the front panel (4, 8, 12, or 16 respectively), which determines the maximum number of supported zones. These microphones can directly interface with recent Cloud products like the DCM1 through the Cloud Digital Paging Interface using standard CAT - 5 cable and RJ45 connectors. They're also compatible with the older Cloud CDPM digital paging microphones, allowing free mixing on the Digital Paging Interface. Key features include individual and multiple zone selection, definable zone groups, a pre - announcement chime, 'Talk' and 'Call - all' buttons, a 'Busy' LED, a configurable two - layer announcement priority system, auto - zone reset after announcements, and a zone disable function. Technical specs: capsule type is Electret Condenser, polar pattern is Cardioid, frequency response is 80 Hz - 16 kHz, it has 4 zones and 4 user - selectable chimes with an internal speaker. It has both digital (Cloud Digital Paging Interface via RJ45) and analogue interfaces. Local supply is 9 - 17 VAC or 12 - 24 VDC via a rear 2.1 mm coaxial connector. Current consumption is 55 mA in idle mode and 72 mA at peak. The base unit size is 9.65” x 2.56” x 6.7”, gooseneck length is 300mm (standard) or 140mm (alternative). Shipping dimensions are 10” x 8” x 9” and the weight is 2.2 lbs/2.9lbs (gross).
Using the Cloud Electronics PM - 4 Digital Paging Microphones is easy. First, connect it to the power supply using the 2.1 mm coaxial connector on the rear. You can choose between 9 - 17 VAC or 12 - 24 VDC. Then, connect it to your system via the RJ45 Digital Paging Interface or the internal screw - terminal access port for the analogue option. When making an announcement, you can select individual or multiple zones with the buttons on the front panel. You can also use the pre - announcement chime to alert people. The 'Talk' and 'Call - all' buttons make it convenient to communicate. After your announcement, the zones will reset automatically. Remember to check the current consumption. It's 55 mA in idle mode and 72 mA at peak. Don't overload the power supply. For maintenance, keep the microphone clean and dry. If you need to change the gooseneck, you can choose the 140mm alternative if the standard 300mm one doesn't fit your needs. Also, make sure to store it in a safe place when not in use.
